Vomiting

In the acute situation, vomiting especially in the context of T1DM, should always be assumed to be due to ketoacidosis until proven otherwise.

When present chronically, other important causes of vomiting in patients with diabetes include metformin intolerance and diabetic gastroparesis. The latter classically present as post-prandial vomiting and may be associated with early satiety and sometimes chronic diarrhoea.
